The process




Due to the abstract nature of my work, the process is somewhat intuitive and most of my custom designs are created as a conscious collaborative effort between me and the person I’m tattooing.

Since the direction and feel of each piece largely depends on the person and what they best align with at the time of our session, I don’t send out designs upfront. All the magic happens on the spot, organically. Both of us present in the creative process ensures that we are able to design a piece that is tailored to fit each individual both aesthetically and energetically so it truly feels right for the wearer.

We usually use the first half hour or so of our session to settle in, chat and explore ideas, both yours and mine so we can determine the general direction, placement, composition and potential details of your piece. Once we’re settled on our direction, we draw the design on your body, clean up all the details and apply stencils when needed. We move through this process slowly, going back and forth until we are both satisfied with our design. There is no rushing or pressure, we take our time and make sure it all feels right before we start tattooing.

Sometimes the design process takes 1-2 hours, but in some occasions it can take up to 3-4 hours with more complex or larger pieces. This might sound a bit intimidating, but it’s actually a pretty light and fun process. We can take breaks as needed, both while designing and tattooing.

I recommend bringing some snacks/food to our session so you can fuel up before we start tattooing and so you can snack along the way.



For pre-drawn designs the preparation before tattooing is considerably shorter, but I still like to have ample time for us to work with so we can find the right placement and get all the details right before we tattoo.



*** To avoid rushing and to make sure that I can give each piece the attention it deserves, I only book one person a day (except for flash) and I only release a limited number of spots each month.

If you’re interested in booking a session with me, please make sure to not plan anything important for the same day day so we can maintain spaciousness throughout our session.






Rates



  • Short day rate: $750

Includes the design process (up to 2.5 hours) and up to 2.5 hours of tattooing (~5 hours total). Ideal for small to medium size tattoos.



  • Long day rate: $1100


Includes the design process (up to 4 hours) and up to 4 hours of tattooing (~8 hours total).

If we end up going over the 4 hours of tattoo time, additional hours will be charged at my hourly rate of $250/hour.

For larger and more complex work, additional sessions may be required and will be charged at an hourly rate of $250/hour with a 2 hour minimum. If there is a substantial amount of additional designing involved, they will be treated as short or long day sessions depending on the time spent tattooing.



*** Please note that as much as I would like to provide clarity around cost, in most cases unfortunately I won’t be able to estimate which price category your tattoo will fall into prior to our appointment or if it will require any additional hours. The deciding factor will be the amount of time we end up spending on your tattoo and that ultimately depends on what your idea develops into by the time we meet.
I always try to be fair and I generally tattoo pretty quick, but it all comes down to the size we settle on, the level of detail, placement and level of difficulty of each piece, which we will only find out together during our session.
Please prepare for both options and bring extra funds, just in case, so there are no unexpected surprises.

*** If you have a budget you need to stay within, please let me know beforehand so we can figure out an option that works and we can create our design with your budget in mind. I try to be flexible where I can, so please, don’t be afraid to talk to me.






Deposits & payment methods



To secure your appointment a $300 non-refundable deposit will be required, which will be applied to the final price of your tattoo.
Please be ready with a deposit, I can only hold spots for 24 hours without one.

The preferred payment method at my studio is cash, but credit cards are also accepted.

Important note: Credit card transactions will include an additional 8% fee (4.5% sales tax and 3.5% processing fee), so if you would like to avoid this charge, please prepare with cash in advance.






Cancellation policy



Deposits are non-refundable.

Before booking, please make sure that you are fully commited and will be able to make the time.
As an artist and a one person operation, I try to utilize my time and energy as best as I can to be able to give each and every project my all.
Since I only book one person a day, last minute cancellations, no-shows and sudden requests for rescheduling can often result in me losing that whole day. With the limited number of spots that I am able to offer each month, losing any can have a considerable impact. Trying to fill spots last minute can be a challenge so if for some reason you can’t make it to your appointment or need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible by emailing me at tamas@unbound.ink to give me a better chance at filling the spot.
If I hear from you at least 7 days before our appointment we can simply reschedule you to a later date without forfeiting your deposit.




Touch-ups

Touch-ups are free within the first year after receiving your tattoo.
