Hey,

I’m Tamás Venczel, a Transylvanian-born, Brooklyn-based tattoo artist specializing in abstract, botanical, and ornamental blackwork, with a strong focus on custom designs.

My biggest inspiration is nature, but because of my deep appreciation for all things crafted with intention, my work is often influenced by a broad range of other art forms, including abstract calligraphy, printmaking, folk art, textiles, ceramics, and architecture from around the globe.

I believe in the power of tattooing as a tool for staying connected to ourselves, our histories, our bodies, and the parts of our lives that shape and inspire us. Nature plays a very important role in my life, so I’m always trying to find ways to bring it closer, strengthening my connection with it. By adorning people’s skin with thoughtful designs and patterns inspired by the natural world, I simply hope to help them in doing the same and in holding their own connections close.

Outside of drawing and tattooing, I spend most of my time tending to plants, walking or biking around the city, exploring places old and new, and being with the people I love. As an endlessly curious person, I am constantly inspired by life, stories, art, music, film, and good conversations. ︎

Currently I am working in my private studio in Prospect Lefferts Gardens / Flatbush.
