Hey,
My name is Tamás Venczel. I am a Transylvanian-born, Brooklyn-based tattoo artist specializing in abstract, botanical, and ornamental blackwork, with a strong focus on custom designs. Using an inquisitive approach, I enjoy working closely with each person to create pieces that feel personal—supporting their vision, ideas, and connection to the tattoo.
As an avid lover of nature with a deep appreciation for all things crafted with intention, I often draw inspiration from the natural world—the elements, flora and fauna—as well as other art forms including abstract calligraphy, printmaking, folk art, textiles, ceramics and architecture.
I believe in the power of tattooing as a tool for staying connected—to ourselves, our histories, our bodies, and the parts of our lives that shape and inspire us. By adorning people’s skin with thoughtful designs and patterns, I hope to help them hold their own sources of grounding close.
Outside of tattooing, I spend most of my time drawing, tending to plants, walking or biking around the city, exploring places old and new, and being with the people I love. I’m curious by nature and constantly inspired by life, stories, art, music, film, and good conversations.
Currently I am working in my private studio in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
